2. Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers to run Alexandria. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase: accounts, sign-in and the app database.
- Hetzner: the servers that run the app (located in the European Union). Attached images are stored here.
- Google: only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- AI model providers: Anthropic (Claude), Groq and Sarvam AI. When you send a message, its text, the recent conversation, and any image you attach are sent to the provider that answers it.
- Email delivery: [email sending provider], to send sign-in codes.
Some of these providers store or process data outside India, including in the European Union and the United States.
3. How long we keep it
- Your account and study material: for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account we delete it within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something longer.
- Images you attach to a chat: deleted from our servers after 30 days.
- Technical logs: kept for a short period and then deleted.
4. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
- correct or update it;
- delete your account and your data;
- withdraw your consent, which means we stop processing your data and close your account;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to.

5. Grievance officer
If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, contact our Grievance Officer: [name], [email]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Alexandria is meant for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please do not create an account. If we learn that we hold data of someone under 18 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it.
7. Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, access to the database is restricted per student, and only a small team can reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
